We have selected the children's favourite recipes to share with all of our parents so you can cook them at home! 

Easy Tomato Base Sauce 

We absolutely love our tomato base sauce the recipe is simple and you may freeze the sauce for up to a month. We use this base sauce in many of our recipes for the children.

Shopping List 

  • 1 Carrot 

  • 1 Onion 

  • 1 Courgette 

  • 1/2 Butternut Squash 

  • 2-3 Tins of Tomatoes 

How to Make

  1. Peel and Dice the Veg 

  2. Add to a pan with tomatoes and a splash of water. Cover with a lid. 

  3. Bring to the boil and simmer until all the veg is soft. 

  4. Blitz the sauce in a blender then pass through a sieve

Homemade Pasta with the Children

Fancy making something with the children?? Pasta is a great recipe to make together! 

Shopping List 

  • 260g Plain Flour

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1 Egg Yolk 

  • 1 tsp Salt 

How to Make

  1. On a clean dry surface pile the flour and make a well deep enough to hold the eggs and salt. 

  2. Combine all of the ingredients 

  3. Kneed the dough vigorously for 8 minutes (let the children play with it). 

  4. Wrap and place in the fridge for 30 minutes (It will keep for 2 days)

  5. Lightly dust the dough and roll until at the required thickness. Cut the pasta into shape or strips.

  6. Bring a large pan to boil and add the pasta until al dense. Add the tomato base sauce for a tomato style dish.

Tomato Topped Tuna Sweet Potato Pie

A true family favourite healthy and ready to go in easy steps.

Shopping List 

  • 1kg Sweet Potato 

  • 1kg White Potato

  • 1 Large Tomato Sliced

  • 145g Tuna or Jackfruit (Vegan) 

  • Dried Parsley

How to Make

  1. Peel and boil the potatoes until cooked 

  2. Drain the tuna and flake (Jackfruit) 

  3. Mash the potatoes with milk and butter (or substitute) 

  4. Stir in tuna and place in an ovenproof dish layer tomatoes on top and sprinkle parsley. 

  5. Bake at 160C for 30 minutes until a golden crust forms. 

  6. Serve with mixed veg

Mediterranean Lamb & Cous Cous

A recipe full of flavour! 

Shopping List 

  • 500g Minced Lamb 

  • 2 Sliced Onions 

  • 3 Garlic Cloves 

  • 3 Mixed Peppers Diced 

  • 1 tbsp tomato puree 

  • 1 pint of tomato-based sauce.

How to Make

  1. In a large pan fry the onions and garlic then brown off the mince.

  2. Add the tomato sauce, puree and lemon juice (if any) and dried basil

  3. Bring to simmer on low heat for 30 mins 

  4. Serve with pasta or cous cous

Chicken Tikka Massala

Shopping List 

  • Fresh Ginger Grated

  • 1 Diced Onion 

  • 3 Garlic Cloves 

  • 2 Peppers Diced 

  • 1 tbsp tomato puree 

  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala 

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon 

  • 1/4 tsp ground coriander

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric 

  • 250g Plain Yoghurt 

  • 350 ml of tomato-based sauce.

  • Spring onions and coriander to garnish 

  • Chicken breast 1/2 per person diced.

  • Rice

  • Naan Bread

How to Make

  1. Combine the garlic, ginger, paprika, garam masala and coat the chicken. 

  2. Leave to marinade for two hours or overnight.

  3. In a large pan fry the onions until soft add the spice and then the tomato sauce and bring to simmer then add the marinated chicken bring back to simmer for 20 minutes then add the peppers and yoghurt and simmer for another 10 minutes 

  4. Serve with rice and naan brads. 


Salmon Broccoli Pasta

Shopping List 

  • 2-3 Salmon Fillets 

  • 1 Onion 

  • 1 Head of Broccoli 

  • Penne Pasta 75g Adult 50g Child

  • Dried Parsley 

  • 2 Pints of Milk (Warmed) 

  • 3oz Plain Flour 

  • 3oz Butter/Marg 

  • 25g cheddar cheese 

  • 1tbsp Mustard 

How to Make

  1. Pre Heat Oven to 160 Degrees 

  2. Bake the Salmon until cooked then flake when cooled 

  3. In a large pan boil the broccoli and pasta until the broccoli is tender and the pasta is just cooked. 

  4. Meanwhile make the cheese sauce - in a pan over a medium head melt the butter and whisk in the flour to form a rue and cook for 5-10 mins, then begin adding the milk a little at a time to make a thick white sauce add the mustard and cheese.

  5. Combine all the ingredients and place in an ovenproof dish for 20-30 mins. 

Pork And Apple Casserole

Shopping List 

  • 2 Sausages per person quartered

  • 500ml Tomato Base Sauce

  • 1oz Red Lentils (Warmed) 

  • 1tbsp Red Currant Jelly 

  • 1 Red Pepper

  • 1 Yellow Pepper

  • 1 Veg Stock Cube 

  • 1 Apple (Peeled and cubed) 

How to Make

  1. Cook the sausages and drain off the fat.

  2. Meanwhile in a large pan bring the tomato sauce to a simmer

  3. Add the stock, jelly and lentils and simmer for 10 minutes 

  4. Add the sausages, peppers and apples simmer for 5-10 minutes.

  5. Serve 


Chicken And Leek Pie 

Shopping List 

  • Chicken Breast diced 1/2 per person

  • 1 Leek Washed and sliced

  • 2 Garlic Cloves Crushed

  • 1 Veg Stock Cube 

  • 1 tbsp Plain Flour 

  • 1 Packet Puff Pastry 

  • Dried thyme

  • 100ml Double Cream

How to Make

  1. In a large pan fry the onions, leeks and garlic until soft

  2. Add the chicken and thyme until browned 

  3. Stir in the flour and cook for 30 seconds then add the stock and enough water to cover, slowly stirring all the time add the cream and season to taste.

  4. Pour the mix in to an oven proof dish and allow to cool while you roll out the pastry on a floured surface.

  5. Cover the dish, trim the excess, brush with an egg then bake for 20-30 mins until the pastry is risen and golden.
